Ben Mangan is Executive Director of the Center for Social Sector Leadership and lecturer at Haas, teaching the course Leading Nonprofit and Social Enterprises. Ben brings more than 15 years of experience in public policy leadership and strategic management, including leadership in Ernst & Young’s Public Private Development Group.

Before Haas, Ben was the President, CEO and Co-Founder of EARN, which helped tens of thousands of low-income people enter the financial mainstream with savings accounts for the unbanked, and matched accounts for low wage workers. Before EARN, he served as the Director of Organizational Strategy for the web-based international micro-payments company, beenz.com.

Ben has served on several nonprofit boards and won numerous awards including Fast Company Social Capitalist of the Year, James Irvine Foundation Leadership Award and Tipping Point Community Award. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Vassar College and a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
