Rosie Rios, Treasurer of the United States, joined Berkeley-Haas as a guest in our Dean’s Speakers Series. Treasurer Rios spoke on the priorities and goals of the US Treasury, and specifically on the current initiative to put a woman on the ten-dollar bill.

2020 is the year that the U.S. Treasury will unveil the redesigned $10 bill, and it will be the first time in over a century that a woman will be featured on U.S. currency. We’re honored to have Berkeley-Haas’ voice in the discussion, which has been taking place across the nation — from gatherings in small towns to round tables at Google.
The historic nature of this currency change is even more significant in the context of the countless contributions women have made to our democracy, and in our own lives. Currency is just the beginning.
